My Version (aka the truth):
For years, I put in the work. Clever jokes. Smooth one-liners. Even the occasional “hey.”
Did I get responses? Fam…
Was I discouraged? Never. Shooters shoot, and I’m basically Kobe. I figured if I kept shooting my shot, eventually she’d get tired of ignoring me and give me a chance.
Now my jersey’s in the rafters.

Her Version (aka the lie):
She’ll tell you I barely messaged her—maybe once or twice—and that she graciously responded when she had time. But I can say, homiessss, there is a long history of unread messages that proves otherwise.
I have the receipts.

The Reality:
After years of me being “funny” (her words: annoying), she finally responded. And once she did… that was it. We’ve been together damn near every day since.
Now we have two beautiful kids, a home, and a life we built together.

This day is the final step—making a promise to God in front of our closest family and friends.

​

So yes, two versions of the same story:
Mine—the heroic persistence of a man who never gave up.
Hers—a fairy tale where she just “happened” to notice me one day.

 

Either way… somebody’s lying.
